What happens when history gets a reset button—and who gets to press it?
At the 5th Justice Ranade Memorial Lecture, organized by Mimamsa Foundation for Indic Studies at Gokhale Institute, Dr. Meenakshi Jain peeled back the layers of colonial rule in her talk: “Colonial Reset: How the British Undermined India’s Indigenous Institutions.”
Marking the 125th death anniversary of Justice M. G. Ranade, the evening featured insightful exchanges with Dr. Uttara Sahasrabuddhe and was enriched by the presence of VC Dr. Umakant Dash.
A reminder that questioning inherited narratives is very much in the spirit of Justice Ranade.
